Vimeo Addendum

Monday, April 30th, 2007

I just wanted to add a little something to my last post.

Not even an hour after posting my article about Vimeo, I received the following email from Jakob Lodwick, one of the founders of Vimeo.

“Thanks for the nice Vimeo writeup on your blog.”

I’m assuming he was able to find out I wrote the article so quickly, thanks to Technorati. I thought this was just another way Vimeo separates itself from the “competition”. It’s a one sentence email. It probably took but a moment to write, but the fact that he chose to take that moment, where others couldn’t care less, and write an email shows that they still understand the lost art of customer appreciation. Bravo.

Fulltime Freelance

Wednesday, March 28th, 2007

I’ve got some pretty exciting news. My last day at Mesos is this Thursday meaning that I will be going fulltime freelance for a while. It should be a pretty interesting change of pace, working at home 5 days a week. It’s something I’ve been striving for but I didn’t think it would happen so soon. I’m looking into the possibilities of another part-time job (I don’t think I’ll ever give up freelance in favour of another fulltime job) because I enjoy collaborating with other designers/developers which is one of the draw-backs to freelance. Anyway, wish me luck on my new endeavour!

New Year, New Design

Tuesday, March 6th, 2007

Well now! The day is finally here where I launch my newly designed website. The old blog is gone now and I have a fresh clean start with this one. Rather than try to write one big post about what I’ve been doing I’ll try to be brief so that I have something to write about in future posts! I made a few resolutions this year and so far I think I’m sticking to them pretty well. (Or at least as best I can.) More on those after the jump. (more…)
